Christmas Lights in Ohio

‘Tis the season for a holiday lights tour! In addition to community all-stars like Fort St. Clair and Light Up Middletown, several residential Miami Valley neighborhoods embrace the Christmas spirit each year. Here are a few of our favorite houses with drive-by Christmas Lights and displays in the Dayton, Springfield, and Beavercreek area. Click here to check out our 2018 list of Christmas lights displays.

East Whipp Road & Marshall Road (Dayton, OH)

This is the place to see Christmas decorations in Dayton. Park in the Fairhaven Church lot to watch these free Christmas lights on the south side of Whipp Road. Their animated holiday light show, which runs through December, pairs nicely with music on 98.1 FM. Tune in. Sip some cocoa. Enjoy the heated front and rear outboard seats in your Honda Pilot. Ah, to be alive!

Renwood Drive (Kettering, OH)

Turn north off of East David Road to catch these animated Renwood Drive Christmas lights. Located just a block up Renwood, the well-lit and heavily decorated house is difficult to miss at nighttime.

Grandon Road & Ridgeway Road (Oakwood, OH)

Impressive Christmas lights adorn the large house on the corner of Grandon and Ridgeway. Lights extend across the entire property and up the trees. They’re some of the prettiest holiday decorations in Oakwood, which makes it a popular destination for families. Drive slowly and keep your eyes peeled for children.

West Stroop Road and Dogwood Trail (Dayton, OH)

Large, beautiful houses line the neighborhoods near Morgaine Country Club. Each Christmas, you’ll find several of them decked out in their Sunday’s best: elegant, white holiday lights. Pass through Dogwood Trail and all around the golf course for a true Dayton holiday lights tour.

Ra-Mar Drive (Springfield, OH)

The community of Ramar Estates typically goes all-out for Christmas, as numerous houses are decorated with holiday displays, inflatables, lights, and more. The neighborhood isn’t very large, but the homeowners’ holiday spirit certainly makes up for it.

Nottingham Place (Miamisburg, OH)

Nearly every house on Nottingham Place puts up Christmas lights most years. (It can probably be seen from space.) Instead of driving, consider parking your CR-V and bundling up for a walking tour of the cul-de-sac. When you’ve had enough holiday cheer, remote-start your Honda CR-V to warm up the cabin and activate its heated steering wheel.

Dayton Xenia Road (Beavercreek, OH)

Beavercreek Christmas lights can be seen on several homes around Dayton Xenia (Hyannis and Brewster Drives, in particular). It’s a bit of a drive if you’re coming in from Dayton, so load up your Honda Odyssey, plug your kids’ tablets into the rear USB ports, and start your trek around dusk. Let the neighborhood’s decorative light fixtures act as your guide.

Shroyer Road and Lincoln Park (Kettering, OH)

Lincoln Park is always lit up on Christmas, but the neighborhoods surrounding it are no slouches. Drive through Storms Road, Aerial Ave, and Schuyler Drive to watch some holiday displays shine. Some are small, some are large, but they’re all perfect additions to your Kettering holiday lights tour.
